Local Attractions: Holy Trinity Monastery
- established in 1974, this oasis of solitude has an established bird
sanctuary complete with walks along the shaded water of artesian formed
ponds. Located in quaint Saint David, eight miles from Benson Kartchner Caverns State
Park - World class cavern that was discovered some
twenty years ago in Benson, AZ and is our newest state park. Tombstone -

figures who have lived here and as the site of the shoot-out at the OK
Corral. Chiricahua National Monument
- The "Wonderland of Rocks" is in the Chiricahua
Mountains at an elevation ranging from 5,100 to 7,800 feet. The Chiricahua
Mountains rise above the surrounding Sonoran and Chihauhuan deserts, provide
shady forests that harbor a variety of wildlife and birds. Among the monument's
outstanding features are gigantic, erosion-sculptured monoliths of volcanic
rock. Gammons Gulch -
Twelve miles north of Benson, this Old West town features 17 buildings
on a main street, a replica of the 1800 through 1930 year. The town includes
a telegraph office, blacksmith shop, jail house, fire station, saloon

- Lies in the heart of the Dragoon Mountains about 30 miles
from the Benson area. This beautiful woodland area lies in a protective
rampart of granite domes and sheer cliffs. In the 1800's, this rugged
natural fortress was the home of famed Chiricahua Apache Chief, Cochise
and his 1,000 followers. Amerind -
A museum of American Indian archaeology, arts, history, and culture. The
Amerind, one of the West's finest museums, is dedicated to the study of
Native American People of the Americas. Singing Wind Bookstore
- A truly unique bookstore located on a ranch. It offers
an extensive selection of rare and unusual books on the west. It's a book
lovers paradise. Located 8 miles from Benson. Stargazers -
The absence of bright city lights makes this area a perfect place for
star gazing. There are several observatories in the area which are open
to the public. Amateur astronomers find the dark skies an excellent climate
